is building out the infrastructure of the Operations Team! This is
a newly created Operations Director role that will be based on-site
out of our Mason City, Iowa facility.ASSA ABLOY is a global leader
in opening access solutions. Our Group focuses on the manufacturing
of steel doors and frames within the commercial market catering to
such industries as hospitality, healthcare, aerospace and
defense,--sports stadiums and educational markets.We are growing
and there has never been a more exciting time to join us!What would
you do as our Quality Engineer?You will play an integral role on
our Engineering Team by identifying root cause and implementing
corrective action activities. You will support continuous
improvement initiatives and possess the ability to present your
findings and results to customers and senior management.You would
also:
- Implement and sustain elements of the QMS (Quality Management
System) including corrective actions, supplier quality management,
customer complaints, change control, audit processes, standard
procedures, test methods and process controls.
- Deploy Standard Work throughout the operating system, teaming
up with operations to improve COQ performance to 1% and conduct
training to achieve goal.--
- Apply Lean Six Sigma process improvement opportunities
throughout the plant and be an ambassador for quality and process
excellence.--
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective action
plans to understand and eliminate defective products.----
- Help develop process controls to reduce process
variations.
- Generate quality scorecards and reports for all aspects of
plant quality.
- Routinely update SOP's, operator work instructions and training
materials to reflect continuous improvement to quality.--
- Monitor, control and analyze product and process quality to
meet internal and external customer requirements.--
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.--
- Responsible for site RMA/RFC process to include evaluation,
processing and corrective actions and disposition.--
- Maintain ISO 14001 certification requirements for the plant:
Working towards future certification to ISO 9001
- Actively participates in providing a safe and harmonious
working environment for all employees.
- Assures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate
governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and
policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
- Other duties as assigned. What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or
a related field of study.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a quality
production environment
- Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification desired
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor Certification
preferred.
- Subject matter expert (SME) on all Quality Inspection and Audit
processes
- Previous experience implementing LEAN practices.
- Ability to multi-task and handle tasks or projects with
competing priorities.
- Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication
skills.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
