ROLE PROFILE SUMMARY:The Wean to Finish Site Supervisor -is
responsible for managing and directing operations of multiple wean
to finish sites. This involves working with employees and contract
partners to maintain production targets and goals. The Wean to
Finish Service Manager will oversee the health status of pigs
throughout their set territory. This position ensures that daily
practices comply with company policies to drive profitable swine
production. - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage sites within a set territory
to oversee health of pigs and grower performanceWork closely with
HPI veterinarians to make decisions at grower and company owned
sitesTake diagnostics as needed and collaborate with company
veterinarianAssist with training of employees and growersEnforcing
all bio-security rules and practices Follow all safety rules and
practices and uphold these standards with employees and contract
growers to do the sameEnsure that animal welfare, health, and
husbandry standards of care are metUnderstand and hold growers and
employees accountable to Hugoson Pork expectationsMonitor data
ensuring it is captured accurately, efficiently, and submitted to
production staff in a timely mannerAnalyze data and implement ideas
for production improvementSchedule, plan, and mark hogs ready for
marketAssist with marketing logisticsManage vaccine and medication
protocolsAssist with company owned sites - Focus on site
ventilation and make necessary adjustmentsEnsure feed management
accuracy and adjustments are followedEnsure grower compliance with
Hugoson Pork policiesMaintain communications with growersWork with
growers to achieve performance goals and address health
concerns.Strive to achieve company set goals, including meeting
production and financial targetsManage start up paperwork and
closeout paperworkPerforming all other activities and
responsibilities as defined by upper managementREQUIREMENTS:
Maintain certification and follow all
PQA/TQA GuidelinesExemplary organizational, leadership, production
problem solving, and communication skillsDedicated, goal oriented,
self-motivated, positive attitude and able to work collaboratively
and independentlyBasic data analytic skills are requiredPossesses
time-management skills, as well as the ability to adapt and
function effectively in a fast paced, changing environmentDisplays
a high level of professionalism and confidentialityAbility to
recognize problems before they occur and proactively resolve and/or
prevent the issueAbility to manage confrontational situations in a
fair, consistent, clear and prompt mannerPossess strong
interpersonal and communication skillsPossess intermediate computer
skills, and must be proficient in Microsoft Office productsMust
possess and maintain a valid driver's license and insurable driving
recordMinimum of 2 years experience in swine productionEDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED. Respect
and care for all animals is required. - The ideal candidate must
also possess experience in creating a culture of respect and care
for all animals throughout the farm system. - Knowledge and
enforcement of the latest industry biosecurity best practices must
be observed and enforced throughout the farm operation. - This
includes daily showering in and out of facilities where animals are
housed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to work in noise levels that
may require hearing protectionAbility to stand, sit, walk, stoop,
kneel, crouch for extended periods of time on varied
surfacesAbility to reach with hands and arms, perform repetitive
motions, climb over 4-foot gates, climb ladders and climb grain bin
ladders/stairs at heights greater than 30 feetAbility to manipulate
(lift, carry, move) heavy weights of up to 100 pounds with
reasonable accommodationAbility to work in a highly interruptive
environmentMust be capable of being on your feet for 10 hoursMust
possess ambulatory skills sufficient to move throughout the
farmMust possess good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger
dexterity, including ability to grasp tools/equipment as well as
operate a computer keyboardMust be flexible with hours and
