Job Description

I. Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities
Provide leadership and coordinates activities of workers engaged in assembly, inspecting, and testing of railway maintenance equipment, applying knowledge of assembly techniques, machine setup, and testing procedures for designated projects.
Interprets schematics, specifications, and job orders.
Ability to provide technical expertise and assist in solving technical problems for your specified area of concentration.
Demonstrates machine setup and operation, and procedures of assembly, plumbing (hydraulic/pneumatic).
Works in an efficient and safe manner.
Must be a team player.


II. Basic Qualifications

Use fairly complicated instructions or drawings, test equipment and a trade knowledge of the installation of hydraulic components and hydraulic plumbing equivalent to 2 years high school plus 2-3 years trades training or 4 years high school.

Other Requirements
Test control assemblies using such instruments as gauges, flow meters, in adjusting and locating defects and taking remedial action.
Requires the ability to plan and perform a sequence of operations where standard operation methods are available.
Make general decisions in implementing engineering instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices is a plus.
Must have a minimum of five years' experience in hydraulic manufacturing and testing.
Must have demonstrated leadership ability.
Must have demonstrated interpersonal skills.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must have the ability to provide problem solving solutions for all aspects of electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic assembly including, pretest, mechanical assembly, and final testing.
Welding experience.

Education or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical course completion of basic electrical application

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data
Ability to write in a clear and concise manner
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions

IV. Essential Functions

The ability to use a computer to communicate , create , and access information

The ability to stand/bend/stretch, etc.
