Chemical Dependency Technician (The Gables - Rochester) #1600The Gables is currently looking for a detail orientated individual to work at our Rochester location in a full-time capacity as a Chemical Dependency Technician.The ideal candidate would have past experience in mental health or substance abuse and have both weekday and weekend availability on 2nd shift.This role pays $20 per hour with an additional $1 per hour for any hours work between 11:00 pm - 7:00 am.Organization OverviewNUWAY Alliance is a nonprofit organization created in 2019 with a mission to provide leadership, innovation, and recovery access in response to national and local trends in behavioral healthcare. CD Techs supervise and manage client behavior and help manage client crisis situations when necessary. They assist on-duty counselors as required in direct support of program goals and objectives. CD Techs require self-confidence, professionalism and the ability to exercise individual discretion and judgment. They must manage competing demands on their time and adhere to program schedule and rules. This includes situations where a client may be under the influence of a controlled substance or struggling with mental health symptoms, the CD Tech will respond in a professional, therapeutic and positive manner. They must be able to react and respond to medical emergencies conveying a positive and professional image to clients, staff and visitors. CD Techs must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and ExperienceRequired:Age 18 or olderCurrent First Aid/CPR certification and Medication Administration certificate (for Residential only) obtained within 30 days of starting work.Able to pass Minnesota DHS background study.Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.Physical Demands: Sitting for extended periods of time. Daily use of general office and/or residential facility equipment. Lifting (max 25 pounds), minimal reaching, bending and stooping.
