Job Description Fortune Brands Innovations is in search of a Senior Software Engineer to join our innovative team for next generation product development. The Senior Software Engineer is a technical software design and development expert, a creative problem-solver, and can execute advanced-level tasks with minimal to mid-level direction. The Senior Software Engineer can architect solutions, troubleshoot issues, and is hungry to learn and apply new technologies. This role squarely focuses on software feature development - including front-end and back-end web application work as well as API development. The ideal candidate is looking to expand their technical proficiency, works well building system solutions (e.g., web app, mobile, APIs, physical devices, etc.) in an agile environment, and is empowered to make technical decisions in their development of software. Beyond a doubt, we have an exciting roadmap ahead for digital products - thus necessitating growth and expansion on our team! The Salary Range for this position is $95,000 - $148,500. PRIMARY RESPONSIBITIES: Solves technical issues and develops code per required functionality. Develops test suites to assess code functionality prior to software development. Partners with product management and business analysts to determine product/feature specs and requirements. Prototypes as needed, seeking to understand before committing to code direction. Launches small-scale projects/tasks, proving technical direction, before embarking on full-scale development. Prioritizes building the "functional," then the "aesthetically pleasing." Embraces failure to prove new technology before deployment. Exercises independent, sound judgement related to technical decisions or demonstrates ability to move in this direction. Keeps abreast of the latest technologies that may impact/disrupt the industry or Fortune Brands' competitive position. Researches and analyzes product development options for critical input/decision making on product direction. Basic programming, e.g., C#, Javascript, Angular JS, and SQL. Designing/developing web applications, mid-layer business logic/database design and/or mobile applications. Tool development, as needed, to aid in the analyses and solving of problems. Task management per current Sprint/Backlog needs, reporting progress and/or impediments accordingly in Daily Stand Ups.SKILLS & ABILITIES: Skilled communicator in the articulation of timely/logical decision-making and reasoning relative to code development. Embodies a craftsman-mindset, continuously tinkering with new technology and developing greater understandings of how best to apply them.QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to travel to the Oak Creek, WI office as needed. B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent. 5+ years experience in a software engineering development role with a focus in building system solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft .NET framework and Microsoft Azure PaaS. Demonstrated interest in continuous development through project work, new technology adoption, etc. Working knowledge of applicable cross-functional disciplines, e.g., marketing, project management, etc. Proficiency in Agile Development Methodology (Scrum).
