  • Minimum of an associate's degree or equivalent preferred, ARRT certified, IT background
  • Radiology experience preferred with emphasis in radiology systems. At least five years of experience Requires computer experience; must have a mechanical aptitude and ability, with attention to relative years of IT experience preferred in software and hardware if no background in radiology
  • Has a strong problem-solving ability at the network level and on server and PC platforms
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of all versions of server operating systems
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations required
  • Understands concepts for security gap identification, mitigation, and closure
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery/business continuance planning and assessment
  • Experience in administrative, technical, and procedural security controls
  • Ability to participate in a team environment and display customer service skills

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Coordinates and/or trains clinicians, nurses, and radiology staff in use of RIS- and PACS-related software.
    • Organizes, plans, and directs activities related to PACS/RIS and software systems for all designated areas.
    • Reviews and tests upgrades, and documents process.
    • Devises or modifies processes to resolve complex systems problems for the user.
    • Works with customers to identify and troubleshoot PACS/RIS problems for the organization, communicating with appropriate personnel.
    • Is available on call.
    • Always communicates with teammates to ensure systems are secure, available, and maintained.
    • Works with user community to understand their security needs and implements procedures to accommodate them.
    • Works with department managers to balance secure practices with business unit effectiveness.
    • Identifies security policy needs and implements them.
    • Manages security audits.
    • Verifies data can be restored.
    • Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
    • Provides high-level support for server-related failures and resolves them in a timely manner.
    • Partners with workstation support staff on PC configurations and problem-solving.
    • Documents installation steps for server-based applications.
    • Performs server maintenance windows as required.
    • It is a resource for other IT staff and CIO.
    • Identifies single points of failure and provides budget input.
    • Manages Olmsted Medical Center server environment whose uptime is critical to OMC.
    • Documents all the above hardware and software and assists with making this information available.
    • Communicates using language understandable by both IT professionals while as managers that support patient care and business unit departments.
    • Responds to phone calls, email, and help desk tickets including software-generated alerts and status emails generated by software and logs of all types.
    • Makes constructive suggestions for change.
    • Communicates effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
    • Continually seeks opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships
    • Facilitates meetings and participates in projects.
    • Solves problems on server and PC platforms.
    • Creates and shares documentation.
    • Other duties as assigned.
