CoordinatorDEPARTMENT:Donor Recruitment SCOPE OF
RESPONSIBILITYReporting to the Donor Recruitment Support Manager,
this position is responsible for recruitment, training, development
and placement of volunteer staff, including planning and evaluation
of the volunteer program.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following; other duties may be
assigned.Management retains the discretion to add to or change the
duties of the position at any time.---Plan, execute and evaluate
programs using volunteers.---Design, draft and update volunteer
position descriptions.---Identify volunteer involvement
opportunities and recruit interview, screen and train
volunteers.---Schedule placement of volunteers to support Blood
Center operations and create and maintain method to track volunteer
service hours.---Document and report on volunteer activities and
usage as well as plan and initiate volunteer recognition
programs.---Serve on internal and external committees related to
volunteer activities.---Prepare and print Community Advocate
Materials for Meetings and Events as well as d evelop and publish
volunteer newsletter.---Organize and maintain
CommunityAdvocatematerials and files.---Act as liaison for
CommunityAdvocateand ensure appropriate follow-up to requests.OTHER
REQUIREMENTSSafetyMust not pose a direct threat or significant risk
of substantial harm to the safety or health of him/her or
others.Must comply with all applicable safety rules and policies
and be willing to report actual and potential safety violations to
the appropriate supervisor or manager.AttendanceMust maintain
regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in
The Blood Center's sole discretion.Regular HoursFull time:must be
regularly available to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per
week, or such other days or hours per week as The Blood Center
determines are necessary to meet business needs.Weekend and
HolidaysMust be available and willing to work such weekends and
holidays as The Blood Center determines are necessary or desirable
to meet its business needs.Off-Site WorkMust be regularly able to
work at off-site locations and to either transport self to
sameSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory
responsibilities.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential

functions.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree from an
accredited college or university in Health Education, Public
Relations, Marketing or related field from four-year college or
university; and a minimum of two years' related experience and/or
training to include sales/marketing or community outreach
experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.A
bilingual (Spanish) skill is highly desirable.CERTIFICATES,
LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONSValid Texas Driver's License and
acceptable driving record.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze,
and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write
reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to
effectively present information and respond to questions from
groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general
public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to calculate figures and amounts
such as discounts and percentages.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve
practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram, or schedule form.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESComputer
Literate: Microsoft Office, Desktop Publishing, Mobile SchedMust be
