Position description

This is a full time remote position within the United States.

The Reporting and Analytics team is seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual to provide development and support for Mayo Clinic's implementation of Epic as our Electronic Health Record (EHR) environment.

Responsibilities of this position will be, but not limited to:

  • Use of relational databases and coding in SQL.
  • Develop reporting and analytics solutions using the Epic Cogito suite of tools.
  • Size, assign, prioritize, and track work timelines through a tool such as ADO.
  • Act as a liaison and primary contact to Mayo clinical, business, and technical areas to adequately support the team's reporting inventory and requests.
  • Validate requirement information with the stakeholders to ensure completeness, correctness, clarity, and confirm it satisfies the stated business need.
  • Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain reporting and analytic deliverables sourced from Epic to customers at all Mayo Clinic sites.
  • Understand the workflow processes and the impact IT can have on the business environment.
  • Produce and maintain documentation such as system requirements, designs, resource inventories, and plans.
  • Provide mentorship, technical advice, project leadership, orientation, or training to other Mayo Clinic staff at various skill levels.
  • Work with a team to develop proposals, create the proper documentation, and obtain required institutional approvals.
  • Evaluate all possible solutions and present recommendations to the team and leadership.
  • Collaborate with the vendor support service group at Epic to solve problems or communicate gaps or possible enhancements to the system.
  • Handle ad-hoc questions and resolve support incident tickets.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies that directly affect the Mayo EHR reporting and analytics environment.
  • Maintain awareness of overall enterprise architecture and direction provided by leadership.

Candidate would ideally have at least 2 years of previous experience utilizing analytics and data reporting tools (such as Crystal Reports or Tableau) with a relational database.

Prefer previous development experience in Epic's proprietary Cogito reporting environment and extracting data from Epic's Clarity/Caboodle databases.

Prefer, but is not required, that candidates possess certifications in Epic's Cogito Fundamentals, Caboodle Data Model Fundamentals, and Clarity Data Model Fundamentals. But, if candidate does not possess preferred Epic certifications then would need to commit to quickly obtain and then maintain these and any other pertinent certifications.

Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience;

Or, Associate's degree and 7 years' experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience.

Additional qualifications

Applies effective system design principles and software development methodologies. Demonstrated ability to multi-task among multiple complex assigned tasks/projects. Evidence of strong communication, meeting management, and organizational skills and ability to adjust the message as appropriate to the audiences of varying technical capabilities. Evidence of project management skills. Possesses an objective and positive attitude with all tasks and projects. Possesses a high level of project and deliverable consistency through demonstrated repeatable and reliable performance. Evidence of ability to take initiative and proactive on starting tasks and assignments and ability to work independently. Experience working in healthcare technology. Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications. Masters degree in applicable field preferred.

Compensation Detail

Required education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The salary range every 2 weeks is approx. $3,171.20-$4,894.40 based on a full-time position.

Normal business hours, Monday - Friday. Will participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Weekend schedule

As needed with 24/7 on-call rotation responsibilities.
