Education - Bachelor's Degree - High School Diploma or GED - Associate's Degree Skills - Records Management - Customer Service The Third Judicial District seeks two full-time Court Operations Associates in Olmsted County. This is a fast paced, highly detail orientated position performing advanced court clerical work in Olmsted County District Court Administration. This position serves the public, judges, and justice partners by providing customer service, clerking court, processing cases, and ensuring compliance with applicable court rules, polices, and standards. These positions are classified as Senior Court Clerks within the Minnesota Judicial Branch job classification system. There are two (2) vacancies which will be filled. These vacancies are currently in the Civil and Family Division. The work location for these positions is the Olmsted County Government Center located at 151 4th Street SE, Rochester, MN 55904. Example of Duties The following are examples of major job duties expected for this position to perform: Performs the full scope of varied court clerical work involved in case processing manually and electronically on the Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS) and other related computer systems. Provides high quality customer service in person, on the phone, and over email by identifying customer needs and responding to questions and inquiries from members of the public, attorneys, and justice partner agencies. Reviews legal documents for completeness, adequacy, accuracy and compliance with rules; determines processing required and takes necessary action in accordance with court rules or refers the highly complex matters to a Court Clerk Leadworker or Supervisor. Updates the court's computer system with relevant details of the court proceedings while court is in session. Determines proper routing of complaints, petitions, and other filings and takes necessary action in accordance with court rules and procedures. Typical Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience Six months to two years as a court clerk or in the legal field, or an equivalent amount of experience in a highly technical field with a customer service focus; or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with others, including collaborating with others as needed. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to de-escalate difficult customer interactions. Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, both as customers and co-workers. Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend rules, statutes, and legal documents of varying type and complexity. Demonstrated accuracy in work product, with an emphasis on accurately serving members of the public. Demonstrated ability to remain flexible and adaptable to change including assignments, procedures, and new initiatives. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, organized, and work with little supervision. Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments and decisions. Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize work duties, pay attention to detail, work well under pressure, and work in a high volume, fast paced environment. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and court files appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes. Skilled in the operation of a personal computer and computer programs. Must have a reliable attendance and punctuality record. Successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check. Willingness to be a team member who is skilled, efficient, flexible, motivated, and positive. Well organized, detail oriented, and analytical. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Paralegal or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Considerable knowledge of court procedures, policies, and records management. Experience working with the Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS).
