developer/innovator who develops, innovates, evaluates, and
implements novel/new tests, methodologies, technologies, or
products for the laboratory under the intellectual and scientific
guidance of laboratory directors and [DT3]. Responsible for
improvement of existing methods or implementation of novel
technology of proven validity within the work unit. Organizes new
method validation data, prepares data for publication and peer
review, and participates in formal presentations. Actively partner
with team members by fostering an inclusive work environment and
respecting others with different backgrounds, experiences, and
perspectives. Individuals hired to this position are required to
complete 2 years in the role before being eligible to transfer to
other positions within Mayo Clinic Qualifications Bachelor's degree
in clinical laboratory science (CLS/MLS), medical technology (MT),
chemistry, biological science from an accredited institution, or
bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in addition to a
certificate in MLS. In histopathology or non-testing laboratories,
a bachelor's degree with laboratory certification if applicable.
Two years' relevant laboratory experience required. A HEW
certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. Other
clinical laboratory specialty certificates will be reviewed and
approved on a case-by-case basis. Master's degree from an
accredited institution in chemical, physical, biological, clinical
laboratory science or medical technology or Doctoral degree (PhD)
in chemistry or a biological science preferred. Self motivated,
highly organized, efficient, and able to work independently
exercising strong decision-making skills. Excellent written and
verbal communication skills are necessary. Capable of reproducing a
reference method using available procedures without supervision.
Demonstrated analytical and scientific competency with development
and/or validation of lab techniques or procedures. Experience with
data collection, organization, analysis and delivery of
information. ASCP or other certification pertinent to the
laboratory field may be required depending on the laboratory
specialty and prevailing regulatory requirements. Preference for
exceptional critical thinking skills along with the following
valuable, but not required skills: Tissue Culture Protein
purification Flow Cytometry Software Western Blot ELISA Molecular

Compensation Detail $66,747 - $100,235 / year Schedule Full Time
Hours/Pay Period 80 Schedule Details Monday through Friday,
dayshift- other hours/days as needed. Hybrid work model- Work From
Home and Onsite; business need requires employees to live within a
reasonable driving distance of campus. Weekend Schedule Weekend
Schedule not scheduled but may depend on instrument availability
