Your Role and Responsibilities

The z/OS Mainframe IMS Systems Programmer will be responsible for all installation, maintenance, and monitoring of IMS regions.

This programmer will be responsible for configuring and supporting IMS across multiple clients.

It will be responsible for problem determination and resolution, performance, and capacity planning, managing day to day IMS system admin requests (e.g. IMS security, IMS Healthchecking, etc.).

Open requirements and/or fix requests for software updates.

Advanced management of IMS for z/OS subsystem & software configurations.

Ensuring that all work is actioned in accordance with security standards.

Use of the current processes/tools to assist with security healthchecking and maintenance of security standards.

Ensuring that Security APARS/PTFs are managed and applied before due date.

Resolution of problems relating to the IMS subsystem and associated software.

Health Checks, deviations, and analysis.

Participate in on-call duty.

Checking & handling incidents

Ordering/installing/upgrading etc. of IMS

Error handling related IMS

Removal/deactivation of IMS products

Plan, analyze and implement IMS Disaster Recovery procedures, practices and jobs.

Perform all functions which are actioned by a IMS System Programmer such as: - IMS Installation, Migration and PTF Installation.

IBM IMS for z/OS RSU maintenance rollouts (Shopz ordering, SMP/E processing etc) - IBM IMS for z/OS version upgrades.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

* Experience in IMS product.
* Experience in IMS related ISV products and tools.
* Experience in Security and RACF

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

* Knowledge on MVS, RACF, IMS, any networking.

Associate's Degree/College Diploma

Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree
