Certified Surgical Technologist Location: Mauston, WI Agency: United Health Care Staffing Pay: $45 to $54 per hour Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/13/2026 About the Position Location: Mauston, WI Start Date: 03-23-2026 End Date: 06-22-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM with weekend on-call rotation (Fri 7:00 AM through Mon 7:00 AM); rotating/extended on-call (15-minute response time) Hours per Week: 36 Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour About United Health Care Staffing At United Health Care Staffing (UHC Staffing), we believe healthcare staffing should be more than just finding a job. Roles & Responsibilities Prepare the operating room and set up the sterile field, equipment, supplies, and solutions to ensure each case starts smoothly Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon efficiently and safely during procedures Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator and maintain accurate records Manage steam sterilizer logs and ensure proper instrument sterilization practices Organize and maintain suture carts, monitor expiration dates, and keep inventory ready Turn over rooms between cases quickly while maintaining a clean and sterile environment Assist team members with gowning and gloving and support patient positioning and safe transfers Handle specimens properly and document as required to support patient care and pathology needs Qualifications BLS required Certified Surgical Technologist (preferred) — we welcome certified pros High school diploma or equivalent preferred 1 years related work experience preferred Two professional references required in the submission packet Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and strong teamwork skills Ability to respond to weekend on-call rotations within a 15-minute timeframe Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred Certified Surgical Technologist preferred Knowledge & Skills Sterile technique and sterile field management Operating room setup and surgical instrumentation Instrument passing, counts, and suture management Experience with steam sterilizers and instrument sterilization processes Operative room turnover and specimen handling Patient positioning and safe transfer procedures Gowning and gloving protocols and strong attention to detail Clear communication and collaboration in high-pressure environments Benefits Generous housing stipend and travel reimbursement to make your contract comfortable Medical, Dental & Vision options so you and your family stay covered Licensure assistance and reimbursement to keep your credentials current Supportive team environment that values your expertise and growth Paid time off to recharge between assignments Referral program — bring a friend, earn rewards Access to professional development and continuing education resources Flexible scheduling around your life when possible Travel Perks: Explore Mauston, WI This is a travel contract—enjoy the charm of Mauston and the great outdoors nearby.
