Job Description:

Mayo Clinic, a leading nonprofit institution in healthcare, seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Hepatobiliary and Pancreas Surgery department. This role focuses on providing specialized care to patients undergoing surgeries related to the liver, bile ducts, gallbladder, and pancreas. As part of our team, you will be integral in delivering expert, compassionate care that aligns with our mission of serving the healthcare needs of individuals through integrated clinical practice, education, and research. Your efforts will contribute directly to enhancing patient outcomes and advancing our commitment to comprehensive, whole-person care. Assess patients' health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. Advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Monitoring patients’ conditions and assessing their needs to provide the best possible care and advice. Observing and interpreting patient’s symptoms and communicating them to physicians. Collaborating with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients. Strong ability in using medical software and administering medical procedures. Excellent teamwork skills to collaborate with other healthcare professionals. In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) A caring and compassionate nature, and the ability to deal with emotionally charged and pressured situations. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Registered Nurse license in the state of employment. BLS/ACLS Certification. PREFERRED: Certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing or a related specialty.
