Job Description:
Mayo Clinic, a leading nonprofit in medical care, education, and
research, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specialized in
Clinical Genomics to join our team. This role focuses on
integrating advanced genomic medicine into patient care to better
diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases. As a part of our nuanced
healthcare team, you will work closely with geneticists and
multi-disciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, research-backed
genomic healthcare tailored to individual patient needs. This
position requires a combination of clinical excellence, a passion
for genetic innovation, and a steadfast commitment to improving
patient outcomes. Conduct genetic assessments and collect detailed
family health histories. Interpret genetic test results and
communicate findings to patients and healthcare teams. Educate
patients and their families about genetic risks, treatment options,
and preventive strategies. Collaborate with genetic counselors and
other medical specialists to create comprehensive care plans. Stay
informed of the latest advancements in genomic medicine and
integrate this knowledge into patient care. Maintain patient
records and document all care-related activities. Strong clinical
skills with a focus on genetic conditions. Ability to interpret and
explain complex genetic information. Excellent communication and
counseling skills. Proficient in using medical software for data
entry and patient management. Ability to work collaboratively in an
interdisciplinary team. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance 401k Current Registered Nurse license. Certification in
Genetics Nursing (GENC) is highly preferred. Basic Life Support
(BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
required.
