your future. Responsibilities The Vice-Chair of the Department of
Nursing is responsible for the overall management and coordination
of select Department of Nursing clinical practice divisions, in
Rochester and/or Midwest. The vice-chair provides leadership and
assures the coordination of the development, implementation and
evaluation of policies, programs, systems and services that support
the clinical practice divisions and consistent models of nursing
care across the clinical practice. Partners with
division/department practice chairs and other senior administrators
to transform organizational values into daily clinical operations
while contributing to the strategic priorities of the organization.
Responsibilities are accomplished based on Mayos vision, mission
and values. The vice chair participates in assessing the
environment, forecasting trends, transmitting values, communicating
ideas, coaching and mentoring others, managing resources, and
assuring that core values are implemented. Carries out select
responsibilities as delegated by the chair. As a Mayo Clinic
administrator, the Department of Nursing Vice-Chair holds
responsibilities to Mayo Clinic as an institution. These
responsibilities include: translating the Mayo mission and
principles into daily operations yielding an efficient, effective
and caring organization; bringing an institutional perspective into
daily operations; serving as a catalyst of and role model for
performance improvement; acting as a facilitator for generating new
ideas and translating plans into reality; having an awareness of
current external issues and assist in understanding and
anticipating the implications of these issues to Mayo; and
providing leadership and mentorship in the development of Mayo
administrators, professionals and leaders. This role is eligible
for TN sponsorship. Holders of F1 status eligible for
post-completion OPT are welcome to apply. This role is NOT eligible
to participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Successful
sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the
VisaScreen or equivalent certification. This position may be
located at any of the following Mayo Clinic sites: Rochester, MN,
Jacksonville, FL, or Phoenix, AZ. All candidates must submit both
an updated resume and letter of interest with their application to
be placed into consideration. Qualifications Masters degree in
nursing or a Bachelors degree in Nursing with a Masters degree in
business or a health-related field required. Minimum of three years
in nursing service administration with line management
responsibilities preferred. Masters degree in Nursing with
administration focus preferred. Previous experience in clinical
practice role. Doctoral Degree – DNP or PhD in Nursing preferred.
Current Minnesota RN license or current license deemed acceptable
by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing. Additional state
licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by
the work area.
