Job DescriptionMayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, is seeking a certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (NP) or certified psychiatric clinical nurse specialist (CNS) to work in the multidisciplinary Pain Rehabilitation Center (PRC) that provides evidence based outpatient treatment for adults and adolescents with pain. Professional responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations, medication management including medication tapers, and facilitation of health and behavioral group sessions. Candidates must be master's-prepared graduates of an accredited school of nursing and psychiatric nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist program, and have a current Minnesota RN license and certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist. Five years of successful work experience in nursing with two years of experience in psychiatry and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) are preferred. The NP or CNS works collaboratively in the care provider role to improve the quality of patient care and facilitate favorable outcomes in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology Pain Rehabilitation Center. The NP/CNS is a part of a multi-specialty team with psychiatrists, psychologists, registered nurses, and allied health staff.Basic Qualifications:Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist program. Current Minnesota RN license (or eligible) and certification (or eligible to be certified) as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist. Masters Degree with a major in nursing with a clinical nurse specialist or nurse practitioner focus. Work experience in the Psychiatric area. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) competency. Has obtained prescriptive authority in the State of Minnesota, if required by department/division. Current RN license to practice in Minnesota. Certification in designated specialty by a nationally recognized body deemed acceptable by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing.Other Qualifications:Experience as a psychiatric NP or CNS preferred. Experience in psychiatric or pain management settings is a plus. Demonstrated leadership ability and interpersonal effectiveness. Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient needs and NP/CNS workload. Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Able to manage time and stress effectively.
