City Rochester State Minnesota Telecommute No Department Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service Why Mayo Clinic Position description As a member of a nurse/paramedic team, the Critical Care Paramedic delivers care to patients during all phases of air medical or ground critical care transport. The Critical Care Paramedic must maintain Allied Health Privileges if required by the base hospital. Note: The Critical Care Paramedic is expected to fulfill all aspects of the EMT/Paramedic Job Description as well as all items identified in this addendum. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent (GED). Five years' full-time pre-hospital experience as a licensed paramedic in a 911 ambulance service which has a call volume of less than 2500 calls per year. Three years' full-time experience in a 911 ambulance service which has a call volume of greater than 5000 calls per year. Additional qualifications A baccalaureate degree is preferred. Previous R/W flight transport experience preferred. Mayo One Rotor Wing specific expectation. Recent Critical Care and/or Emergency Department experience preferred. Previous Critical Care transport experience preferred. Audit with successful completion of Advanced Trauma Life Support (or equivalent course work as approved by Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service Medical Director) within six months from date of hire for the R/W Transport Paramedic position. Mayo One Rotor Wing specific expectation. Must be proficient in English; must be able to read, write, and speak English. License or certification Current certification as Nationally Registered EMT/Paramedic (NREMT-P). Current certification/licensure as Minnesota/Wisconsin EMT/Paramedic. CCEMT-P or equivalent (Mayo One Rotor Wing specific expectation). Certification requirements consist of: BLS; CCEMT-P; ACLS; PALS or APLS (must maintain at least one in this category); NRP; Peds-BTLS, PEPP ALS, or ENPC (must maintain at least one in this category). Initial ATLS didactic audit within six months of date of hire for Rotor Wing Critical Care transport position (Mayo One Rotor Wing specific expectation). Maintain current CCEMT-P course certification. Successfully complete the Flight Paramedic - Certified (FP-C) examination within one year of hire date and maintain this certification. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic Policy. Exemption status Non-exempt Compensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $28.79 per hour. Benefits eligible Yes Schedule Part Time Hours / Pay period 60 Schedule details This .75 position will be scheduled days, nights and weekends. One pay week will be 24 hours, the other pay week will be 36 hours. Weekend schedule There is a weekend requirement. Weekend schedules will be discussed upon offer.
