responsible for directing the daily operations of feed
manufacturing and the delivery processes as well as producing and
delivering high quality feed to regional sales locations, toll
mills and producers. - Provide direction and leadership in
inventory management, purchasing and efficient operations at all
feed milling and sales locations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management of all milling and
sales operations
- Evaluate product needs and work with the rest of the team to
determine feasible procurement, manufacturing, and distribution
plans
- Lead the team in building and maintaining customer and business
relationships
- Oversee purchasing activities to ensure correct ingredients are
available and evaluated for quality as well as cost
effectiveness
- Oversee inventories to ensure products are available, accounted
for, and rotated properly
- Oversee feed production equipment, facilities, and truck
maintenance and repairs
- Monitor preventative maintenance program and assist in
appropriate repair/replace decisions
- Establish and monitor production targets and deliver quality
products in a timely manner.
- Understand and ensure compliance with all transportation,
environmental and feed production regulations, and policies
- FDA and FSMA requirements
- Focus on biosecurity and customer expectations
- Oversight of all required records and documentation related to
production, drug/supplement usage and feed transportation.
- Provide leadership to employees to achieve expected employee
performance and retention

- Work with internal and external nutritionists and related
vendors to ensure diet additions and updates are implemented in a
timely and cost-effective manner
- Provide information and recommendations to upper management
related to feed production/transport, and related cost reduction
opportunities.
- Communicate pertinent business information to Leadership Team
through timely emails and phone conversations as well as submitting
weekly reports by 3:00 pm on Friday
- Listen, address complaints, and resolve problems with customers
and team members.QUALIFICATIONS:A college degree in Animal
Nutrition, Feed Milling or similar field is preferred with five or
more years of experience in mill management, supervision and/or
feed sales. - To achieve success this individual must be a
self-starter that is dedicated, motivated, and promotes positive
teamwork. - Skills include effective collaboration, efficiencies in
calculations, cost/benefit analysis and complex scheduling. - This
position requires basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and
Outlook as well as a thorough understanding of feed mixing and
inventory management software programs. - Necessary mill operation
certifications and a valid driver's license are required for this
