descriptionProvides strategic oversight of the Development Events
programs for the Mayo Clinic enterprise, including campuses in
Rochester, Florida, Arizona and across the Mayo Clinic Health
System. Fosters innovation to insure the event program is seen as a
best-in-class benchmark in the fundraising industry. Performs
duties independently and initiates judgment in handling a variety
of management issues. Develops and implements benefactor engagement
strategies to carry forward the mission and vision of Mayo Clinic
via digital platforms and in-person events. Duties include
management of staff, program budget development, operational and
strategic planning and implementation of policies, procedures and
systems. Ensures Mayo Clinic optimizes all opportunities for
benefactor engagement which is achieved through a variety of means;
including internal and external events, executive involvement as a
strategic engagement tool, and coordinating all tangible items of
benefactor recognition events. Ensures that key institutional
messages are supported in benefactor engagement activities.
Collaborates with appropriate vice chairs, associate chairs,
program directors and development officers to increase benefactor
giving and meet fundraising goals. Qualifications A Bachelor's
degree and 7-10 years of experience in health care administration,
events, or donor relations is required. Experience working with
executives and curating small, high-profile events for benefactors
is strongly preferred.Additional qualifications A Master's degree
in business, marketing or related field and 5 years of fundraising
experience is preferred. Strong leadership, team building and
problem-solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to work
collaboratively in a complex organization. Incumbents will have
demonstrated competencies in strategic and operational planning and
project management. The incumbent must be able to work effectively
in a consensus-style operation that expects and promotes teamwork.
Must be able to train and mentor employees. Requires excellent
decision-making and judgment capabilities. Excellent oral and
written communication skills. Must be effective in facilitating
crucial conversations. Professional writing experience is required.
Ability to develop and move projects forward with a high degree of
independence and autonomy. Seasoned judgment, ability to make
decisions, justify recommendations, and be responsive and clear
with colleagues and partners. The incumbent must have strong
analytical abilities to continuously improve program outcomes,
provide accurate financial analysis and budget forecasting. A
task-oriented style with focus on achieving clear and ambitious
short- and long-term goals in line with program strategy.
Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage multiple
priorities by maintaining a high level of organization. Must
possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence, and
communicate effectively with internal and external audiences,
including Mayo benefactors at the highest levels. The ability to
maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality is
essential. Work related experience in a health care setting is

be 50-70% of time on the Rochester, MN campus, and will need to be
located within a reasonable driving distance of Rochester. The
remaining 30-50% of the time may be worked remotely. Occasional
