match.Position descriptionDescriptionThe Medical Director for
Biomanufacturing is a Rochester, Minnesota role focused on
providing clinical expertise and consultation to internal Mayo
investigators related to regenerative biotherapeutics at Mayo
Clinic. Specifically, the Medical Director will:
- Serve as therapeutic area expert in Biotherapeutics to provide
clinical leadership and support for various products in stages of
clinical development
- Will provide strategic and tactical planning of medical
Biotherapeutics program site support and provide oversight.
- Serve as the main point of contact for escalated calls from
Biotherapeutics involving medical decisions (e.g. whether to
proceed with product use/administration) and for clinical issues
related to nonconforming products including person responsible to
communicate information to treating physicians related to
nonconforming products
- Collaborate in the development of training materials for
physicians and new clinician onboarding
- Support Biotherapeutics medical affairs studies (e.g.
registries, protocols)
- Provide therapy area medical expertise to clinical study teams
and key stakeholders
- Supports cell therapy collaborative activities, communicating
at a senior leadership level the impact of patient safety data in
terms of go/no go decisions or modification of development plans
and/or study designs and the associated impact on development and
regulatory timelines
- Drafting of clinical protocols, along with colleagues and
providing the medical strategic oversight of the
protocol.Qualifications
- MD, preferable with clinical, research experience in cellular
therapy/Biotherapeutics
- Candidate must have or be able to obtain an unrestricted
medical license in Minnesota
- Expertise in cellular therapy/hematopoietic stem cell
transplantation and/or hematological malignancies is a strong
plus
- Demonstrate clinical management knowledge and skills
- Excellent analytical skills and solid experience in translating
medical/clinical information into medical affairs strategies
- Proficiency in critical data review and interpretation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including
presentations, facilitation of interactive discussions, and 1:1
discussions with thought leaders
- Knowledge/application of data sources, reports, and tools for
the creation of solid plans
- Experience working on multidisciplinary clinical projects
across various autologous and allogeneic cell therapy
platforms
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and
problem-solving skills
