The Center for Digital Health (CDH) serves as Mayo Clinic's hub for digital transformation, supporting business and consumer needs across sites, shields (Practice, Education, and Research), and other lines of business. CDH houses teams of digital experts and creative problem-solvers positioned to help our partners translate Mayo Clinic business objectives into digital strategy and solutions that drive high-value with measurable outcomes. With expertise in assessing business and user needs as well as digital product research, design, strategy, technology, architecture, measurement, and optimization, CDH teams are passionate in pursuit of industry-leading digital health experiences. This role provides thought leadership and strategic direction for a broad range of digital engagement activities to advance the CDH mission. Leadership scope spans digital engagement and communications strategy, activities, and artifacts targeted for external digital industry; external digital health patients and consumers; Mayo Clinic executive groups, including Board of Trustees; various internal practice, research, and education committees and stakeholders; internal CDH teams, including CDH Medical Directors and administrative partner dyads as well as CDH team members. Receives direction from the Senior Director, Center for Digital Health Strategy, along with the full CDH executive leadership team. Works in matrixed partnership with other CDH team members engaged in digital engagement and communications activities across CDH domains and functional pillars; partner organizations outside CDH including Public Affairs and Marketing; various internal physician and administrative colleagues and committees; and external digital influencers, channels, and partner organizations in varying capacity. Represents Mayo Clinic in interactions with external entities in a manner that affirms and promotes the Mayo Clinic brand, establishes CDH agenda and messaging externally in support of digital strategy and our digital product portfolio, and positions key CDH digital leaders to drive external influence in and beyond the digital health industry. As a position of internal and external influence, this role serves as advisor to senior executives and other CDH leaders; provides thought leadership for digital engagement and structure to both direct reports and a matrixed team of digital communications and engagement professionals. Position OverviewProvide the vision, strategy, direction, insight, and tools required to plan, design, develop, manage, monitor, and continuously improve high-quality and high-impact CDH digital engagement and communications in support of CDH objectives and Mayo Clinic digital strategy. Additional responsibilities include: Develop broad and deep understanding of Mayo Clinic digital strategy and CDH people, vision, mission, plans, priorities, and products. Anticipate implications and advise on digital engagement requirements resulting from strategic decisions and day-to-day CDH activities. Engage CDH leaders actively and in an agile manner to understand gaps and opportunities; develop and maintain prioritization framework and strategic backlog of work.Institute a sustainable digital engagement and communication strategy, framework, and plan that organizes and drives targeted digital engagement, messaging, and artifacts for specific audiences on an intentional cadence; establish cadence of strategic messaging to enable awareness, understanding, enrollment, and transformation in support of digital strategy; develop repeatable method for connecting dots between artifacts to ensure consistency and integration of key messages.Create a measurement framework to assess value and efficacy of digital engagement and communications plans and products; create structures for continuous improvement and reduced meetings. Ensure quality, effectiveness, and digital savvy of digital engagement products for internal and external stakeholders. Lead direct reports and matrixed team to collaboratively translate CDH objectives into world-class, inspiring, change-sensitive, and easy-to-understand digital engagement and communications products that advance CDH priorities while meeting the needs of the audiences that CDH serves. Lead effort to proactively extrapolate in an ongoing manner required engagement and communications needs from CDH plans, materials, meetings, and current progress/issues.Design and develop presentations and other digital engagement artifacts for specific high-priority audiences and channels as needed.Handle confidential information appropriately; advise CDH Leadership Team on sensitive communications as needed, such as crisis management and personnel issues.Partner with Senior Director of CDH Strategy and Public Affairs team members to establish a modern, effective external CDH digital presence that supports Mayo Clinic digital strategy and positions CDH thought leaders for external impact in the digital health and adjacent industries.Partner with HR to identify opportunities to bridge enterprise HR-related communications and application for CDH, particularly as they pertain to organizational change or increased stress (such as a COVID surge).Grow team of world-class digital engagement and communications professionals; ensure high performance culture of empowerment, innovation, psychological safety, and fun. This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position.CDH2021 Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience leading digital engagement and communications in a complex, matrixed, and digital environment. Digital product familiarity and management experience required. Experience in healthcare or other highly regulated environments along with digital transformation experience preferred. Portfolio samples required. Additional qualifications Expertise in all facets of internal and external engagement and communications supporting digital teams and digital product portfolios, including passion for thoughtful experimenting with new digital techniques and technologies to engage specific audiences. Demonstrated ability to lead and grow people in a highly matrixed and complex environment; proven success in effective decision-making that unites teams and drives progress toward ambitious goals while managing ambiguity, risk, and uncertainty. Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and capture the essence of complex information in order to discern key messages quickly. Experience in successfully managing stakeholders in complex, matrixed, and strategic initiatives. Expert story-telling skills; strong written and verbal communication and persuasion skills. Strong interpersonal and active listening skills; ability to quickly establish high-trust relationships and facilitate group/team activities.
