EXHIBITS DEVELOPMENT CROUP (EDG) is a leader in the traveling exhibitions industry. EDG specializes in developing, distributing, and touring traveling art, science, and popular culture exhibitions to a variety of museums and alternative venues worldwide.
CHATEAU Located in the heart of Rochester, Minnesota, the Chateau Theatre was built in 1927 and remains one of the most significant historic structures in the city. Over the years, this historic treasure has served as a theater, an event center, and a bookstore before it was vacated in 2015. Now, fast forward to 2019, when everything is about to change!
With the goal of resurrecting this important landmark to bring international arts and culture to the Rochester community, Exhibits Development Group (EDG) will breathe new life into this regional jewel with the all-new Chateau.
As a community resource, Chateau is the place to "BE" and appreciate the Rochester's rich culture and diverse lifestyles. Our ever-changing programming will engage locals and visitors alike while sparking the curiosity of the next generation of problem solvers and innovators through outreach and STEAMbased education efforts.
JOB DESCRIPTION The Chateau Manager, an employee and representative of EDG, is responsible for carrying out the operations of Chateau, including exhibitions, special events and programming pertaining to the general public & education stakeholders, retail and caf-- operations. The Chateau Manager will be responsible for: hiring, training and managing the Staff; opening and closing Chateau; general maintenance and cleaning of Chateau; sales and attendance reporting; Retail Store set-up and merchandising; and retail inventory management.
This position is located in Rochester, MN.
RESPONSIBILITIES --- Deliver a world-class customer experience designed to build customer loyalty.--- Motivate and coach team members as well as his/her managers to achieve goals and objectives.--- Maintain positive relationships with third-party vendors, partners, and performers.--- Maintain excellence in day-to-day operations. --- Establish and maintain strong relationships with leaders and corporate partners.--- Work closely with public/private K-12 education providers to offer field trip, outreach, and afterschool programming opportunities.--- Work with EDG Leadership Team to create vibrant Chateau Member culture within the experience, as well as member-specific events--- Ensure the highest level of customer service.--- Communicate with guests regarding their questions and concerns, and provide excellent customer service--- Manage store P&L within budget and maximize profitability.--- Ensure store policies and procedures are in place and being followed.--- Coordinate with marketing and partnerships teams to implement promotions and events.--- Assist the partnerships team with fulfillment and execution of contractual obligations.--- Serve as Cultural Ambassador of Chateau helping to bring this cultural center to life.--- Network within the community to create brand awareness and interest.--- Plan monthly social and partner events with the support of the corporate marketing and events team.--- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE--- 3-5 years of experience leading teams in a retail environment--- Previous experience in product merchandising and events marketing is preferred--- Significant experience in personnel management, including conflict resolution--- Significant experience with in-person guest and/or guest-facing services--- Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and walks of life (required)--- Previous experience in arts, culture, and/or music venue is preferred.
REQUIREMENTS--- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members.--- Ability to maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom.--- Well-developed communication skills (both written and verbal)--- Strong organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills--- Responsible, trustworthy, and self-directed with a strong sense of professionalism--- Adaptable, with strong situational awareness and management skills plus the capacity to accept constructive criticism--- Ability to stand for long periods of time.--- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business.
