General Responsibilities
Responsible for providing support to the accounting department and
managers. The focus of this job is on producing high quality,
detailed work based on established standards, guidelines, and
procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential requiring
patience and a willingness to handle and complete one task at a
time. The job environment promotes steady, methodical work output
so that job routines can be completed on time and error-free. This
position is designed to develop a valued technical expert, who,
recognized and supported by management and a stable work
environment, can deliver quality work on a consistent basis. -
Supervision Received/Provided Reports to Accounting Manager and VP
Finance, Stoney Creek Hospitality. - Essential Duties May Include
But Is Not Limited To:
- Prepare, error-free, accounting records, financial statements,
and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and
conformance to reporting and procedural standards
- Compute sales, hotel and use taxes owed
- Prepare and coordinate deposit activities
- Perform all necessary accounts, bank, and other
reconciliations
- Check, verify and process invoices
- Sort, code and enter accounts payable data
- Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices
- Verify payroll taxes and other deductions.
- Assist the payroll department as necessary
- Update, verify and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and
other financial records
- Assist in month end reporting procedures
- Find and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and
discrepancies
- File, track and maintain all hotel licensing requirements
- Assist with answering phone calls and clerical duties
- Work together with other departments/customers/vendors
Technical Skills and Abilities:
- Possess advanced skills in the use of Microsoft 365 and Sage
Intacct platforms
- Strong ability in managing and processing large quantity of
data
- Proficiency in data organization, filtering, as well as
combining functions
- Great deal of attention to detail devoted to getting timely and
accurate results
- Ability to organize work schedules and to warm up to people
from diverse cultures
- Efficient in communicating both orally and in writing with all
levels of staff
- Self-motivated with ability to prioritize tasks and perform
multiple duties simultaneously - Other Duties: The atmosphere of

Education/Certifications/Training/Experience:
- Four-year degree in accounting, preferred
- Two years of hospitality experience desired.
